Why dimensions matter in air freight
A light box can still take up a lot of space. An air freight quotation therefore needs both the weight and external dimensions of each package.
Weight does not tell the whole story
Air shipment planning considers actual weight and the space occupied by the goods. Chargeable weight may differ from the weight shown on a scale. Check the applicable calculation in the specific quotation, particularly for bulky or irregularly shaped cargo.
Match packaging to the contents
Choose packaging that protects the goods and limits movement inside. Avoid unnecessary empty space, but do not compromise product protection simply to reduce dimensions. Measure after final packing and confirm whether the cargo can be stacked with other freight.
The timeline includes more than the flight
Collection, cargo acceptance and handling, and delivery after arrival all contribute to the delivery timeline. State when the goods are ready and when the recipient needs them. Flag batteries, liquids or other special products beforehand so acceptance requirements can be checked.
